Some Great Old Hunting Photographs
Doidge5781 from AusVarmint.com’s Forums gave me permission to post these photo’s on Hunt & Shoot.
A Thylacine shot in what Doidge thinks is the 1920’s but looking at the firearm it could be a muzzle loader so it could be earlier. Though I’m not sure (please if you can recognise the gun comment on what it is). Such a shame these were shot to extinction, would have loved to have seen one of these creatures in life. If conservation hunting was applied we probably would still be able to hunt them. That said it was probably hard enough getting a farm established in Australia through the 18th and 19th centenaries so an loss of stock would have been a huge deal. Still it is such a shame we lost what seemed to be a powerful and impressive animal.
Also a 1940’s fox hunting party
If you have any great old photo’s like this that you want to share with everyone at Hunt and Shoot please email them to me at news@huntandshoot.com.au it would be great to see them no matter what their era is.
