Victorian Duck hunter education from DSE Victoria.
DSE Victoria has just posted out two useful publications aimed at improving the knowledge and skill of duck hunters. If you have a current game license that is endorsed for Ducks then you should receive these publications in the mail. Produced in conjunction with hunting organisations, these publications will be a great aid to hunters.
These two publications include the “Shotgun Education Handbook” and the identification handbook for “Victorian Game Waterfowl”
Both publications are excellent and are paid for with game license fees.The Shotgunning Education Handbook has chapters that cover quite a range of subjects.
Including, Regulations, Ethics, shotgun basics, blinds, using decoys, calling ducks, pattern testing, range estimation, shooting techniques, dogs and retrieving, game bird dressing, care and cooking.
This publication has had considerable input from hunters and will be an excellent guide for both new and older hunters,
The Victorian Game Waterfowl guide is well put together and gives an excellent guide on how to identify Game ducks at all stages of development and also how to tell the sex of ducks.
The Game Management Unit in conjunction with “SSAA” and “Field and Game Australia” is to be congratulated for making these two excellent publications available to Victorian Duck Hunters.

i recon it would be a good idea if it were available to all interested parties and not just the duck hunter. knowledge is a good thing.
I would say that you could walk into a DSE office and pick up a copy free of charge.
i am lookin to go away for a w/e duck shooting where are same good places in vic ?
