NSW To Get Some Gun Reform??

| April 24, 2010 | 0 Comments

In an ABC news report last night entitled: “NSW Treasurer accused of misleading Parliament” had a small piece at the end of it stating that the NSW Police Commissioner is planning a new category of firearms for “Millitary Weapons” as well as outlawing handcuffs, bullet proof and taser-proof clothing. The story said it comes as there has been a 5% increase in the number of licenses in NSW (over 2 years I presume). This is annoying as you would think people wanting to do the right thing and be licensed firearm owners is a good thing.

This is very disturbing knowing that there are moves afoot to further restrict law abiding citizens from owning firearms.

I have no further details on what is classed as a “Military” weapon but I can only imagine it is going to be the same sorts of firearms that South Australia are cracking down upon.

I will be following up on this shortly as soon as I have more details. As soon as I do the shooting community MUST respond with a massive campaign to prevent this from happening.

Stay tuned for more information.

Here is the original video, the bit relevant to us is in the last 30 or so seconds of the video:
