UPDATE
SSAA (Para Branch) presented a proposal to SAPOL, regarding the use of these firearms on our Range Facility
I am pleased to report that we have recieved,“TENTATIVE APPROVAL ONLY,….. To modify the THE 300m Backstop, Target Frames and Baffle System for the purpose of sighting in of High Performance large calibre firearms, with the following conditions……….”
We will commence the necessary work immediately, and then organize the necessary SAPOL Range inspections.
Part of the conditions, are that only agreed calibres will be used, and we must submit a list of calibres to Firearms Branch for which approval is being sought.
If you have ANY Firearms in the Calibres all ready noted, Please contact the secretary or my self

This is a very good thing for SA Shooters and Para Members, of course this is not a done deal yet however positive step forward, if you know any members of Para ( or people looking at being a member as this will help everyone )
Please let them know to get the word out as more people with these rifles that can let the club know to put in the submission for the approval

Maybe they want the list because they know nothing about calibres and just need a new list of calibres to ban.
Norm, that is not what I have been told, it is on the list that has been banned from the range we are to submit the ones we want back.
